Huge spaceships fight each other in a 5v5 format. I joined Edge Case just after they had released Fractured Space in Early Access - about 1 year into development.
I worked in anything and everything, wherever I was needed. Some days I was helping designers with UE4 and Blueprints.
Other days I was deep in C++ code, doing AI or writing a new Game Mode.
Areas I worked on
Ship AI :Custom solution. This was written after ~25 ships were already in the game
Frontline :First alternative game mode for Fractured Space. Brought new mechanics to the table
Crew :Frontend/Backend + in-game effects
MMR Calculation :Both for PvP and versus Bots
Loot Boxes :Support for all items in the game
Backend tools :Data input and synchronisation for designers
Code support systems :Systems that help alleviate repetitive tasks for the rest of the team
